Kylie Jenner, first woman to have 300 million Instagram followers becomes Kylie Jenner

Kylie Jenner is the make-up guru and has now become the first female to have 300 million Instagram followers.

Ariana Grande is currently tied for second with Selena Gomez. Each singer has 289 million.

Cristiano Ronaldo is the Manchester United striker and Instagram’s most-followed person with 388,000,000 followers.

Jenner was relatively silent on image-sharing platforms recently.

Travis Scott, her rapper partner, was performing at Astroworld in Houston on November 5, when 10 fans drowned.

Jenner, who is now pregnant with their second child was only able to snap a photo of Kris Jenner’s mother on Christmas Eve.

She posted the following week about her 2021 “blessings and heartaches”.

The official @Instagram account has more followers than any other, with over 460 million.

Ronaldo is next, becoming the first to surpass 200 million followers.

Lionel Messi is also a footballer who has reached 300 million.

Other accounts in the top 10 belong to former wrestler The Rock, reality-TV personality Kim Kardashian and singers Beyoncé and Justin Bieber.

Instagram’s popularity has led to criticism over its ability to create harmful content online.

Frances Haugen of Facebook, whistleblower said it was “more dangerous than any other form of social media”, following revelations that company research had shown it to be potentially harmful.

Instagram stated at the time that the research demonstrated its commitment to “understanding complex and difficult problems”.
